-

This report examines the evolving trade relationship between Indonesia and Sub-Saharan Africa, highlighting current dynamics, challenges, and opportunities for deeper cooperation. While Indonesia’s engagement has historically been limited compared to China and India, recent efforts under President Joko Widodo have led to increased trade and diplomatic activity. Despite this progress, trade volumes remain modest due to logistical inefficiencies, high costs, and limited investment frameworks. The report proposes four key areas to strengthen ties: infrastructure development, healthcare partnerships, trade facilitation aligned with the AfCFTA, and education and knowledge exchange.
